Janice, as far as I know, his response seems correct to me. It is true that
the dioxin intake via breastmilk is many times higher than the 'level of
safety' (=far above recommended acceptable daily intakes) suggests.

Still this hasn't showed any negative impact on the children, except in a
few individual cases. The big dutch research from '96 was the first
research that did show an adverse reaction in children that received a
highly contaminated breastmilk: their motor skill dropped to the level of
formulafed baby's.

This is a serious problem and needs attention. But it is not a reason to
recommened to not breasfeed (obviously).

In Dutch women, who are known to have very high dioxin and PCB levels, the
levels are declining, fortunately.
