Hi, Jan,
Regarding your use of the adapted syringe to stretch inverted nipples. How
do you clean the syringe prior to mother's use? I tried to have them cleaned
and wrapped at the hospital after plant operations cut them for me, but that
was not allowed as the syringes are considered single use items. (One of the
workers did a batch for me anyway and got into trouble.) Infection control
suggested that I soak and wash them in some solution prior to giving to a
mom--forgotten what--she wasn't concerned & that was over a year ago. No one
is concerned expect me. We are putting an item on baby's 'plate of food'
that has been touched by others. At present, we do nothing other than have
the syringes cut and instruct the mother to keep it clean herself.
