Hello Lactnetters:

I have been contacted by a mom who is blind. She is expecting her first
biological child in August;she has an adopted pre-school daughter.
She would love to find some information on breastfeeding that in on
tape.(audio tapes- not video , of course.) This will be her first time
breastfeeding and she really would like info. before the birth.

She does read Braille, but describes herself as a slow reader. So
material in Braille would I guess be better than nothing, but audio
tapes are highly preferred. Obviously, I am only interested in any tapes
that contain good, accurate information. She said she found some tapes
on bfing that are really old, like from 1963, and the info is
useless. She needs some up-to-date info. from a good reliable source
(like LLLI-I plan on looking into that source, of course, but I realize
there may be tapes available from someplace else that I am not familiar
with.)

Anyone who has worked with a mom who is blind, I would love to hear from you!!
She will be coming to our Series meeting in May- I am giving her a ride,
since obviously she can't drive. . .

Thanks, Ellen Vegh, LLLL, Pittsburgh, PA
