IBLCE is the certifying authority that awards the IBCLC credential to those
who successfully pass their exam. The letters "IBCLC" are trademark
protected by IBLCE, and IBLCE does, indeed, guard that trademark very
carefully .. and thank heavens for that. If everybody and his sister could
wear IBCLC pins on their jackets, or put those inititals on their
letterhead, it would dilute its value for those of us who earned it.

IBLCE also has a lovely logo, which may be purchased in the form of a pin.
It has the three stylized circles representing baby, mother and IBCLC. They
also have lovely bar pins that say "IBCLC" and are colored according to your
number of years of certification. (I'm a yellow these days -- certified
over 10 but less than 15 years.)

ILCA is the separate and distinct professional association for IBCLCs (and
others who support its mission), providing educational and professional
development opportunities in the field of breastfeeding and hman lactation
ILCA also has a lovely logo, which may be purchased in the form of a pin.
It shows stylized encircling hands.

For purposes of a presentation, my personal vote would be to show a
*photograph* of the *IBLCE* logo pin. Maybe throw the bar pin in there
too, to pund home the point. That is a visual representation of the entire
profession. Not every IBCLC is also an ILCA member (more's the pity). But I
would also send an e-mail note to IBLCE, maybe even attaching the slide,
asking permission for this one-time use, in an educational session to your
[describe them] audience, in which you are describing and promoting the
special qualifications of the IBCLC profession, in a slide presentation in
which you will NOT grant YOUR permission for reproduction.
