Lisa and Chele,
My knowledge of MS is that it is a degenerative disease (with an autoimmune
basis) involving demyelination of the multifocal type, scattered throughout
the CNS-not just the brain cells. The benefits of breast milk in regard to
prevention of autoimmune disease is understandable, therefore it’s part in
potentially preventing or minimizing MS makes sense. I am not aware of any
evidence that breast milk ingested “after the fact” would retard or reverse
MS. However, I know from personal experience that most people (and
families) experiencing the devastating effects of this insidious disease
will try almost anything to halt it’s progression. Breast milk is the most
gentle, homeopathic, and nonproblematic “drug” I could imagine--I wonder
that no one has tried it. Warmly, Mary Anne B.
