As an Active Duty Army officer - and breastfeeding mother of 2, I can answer Pamela's question re: BF rights in the military.  The Army policy (not regulation) is that mothers of newborns (feeding method not specified) are exempted from field duty/deployment/TDY etc for 4 months after the birth.  This is subject to individual Commander's interpretation, and, as always, the needs of the Army. During these times I have no doubt many new moms are awaiting deployment orders.
