Rose, this may be in the archives - I don't recall, but what I've read in
the research:  The compound in breast implants - polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)
- is insoluble in biological fluids (It has a molecular wt. of 24,000).
After the scare based on a rather selective & small study in 1994, Dr.
Cheston Berlin did a commentary in Pediatrics (94:547-549, 1994) that took a
closer look at the issue.  In light of all the good things about human milk,
having implants was viewed as a non-reason to wean.
