I respect Karen Pryor deeply and even served as her technical editor for
her most recent incarnation of Breastfeeding Your Baby. However, I must
add a minor (but important) correction.

The five forms of sexual expression that make up a woman's experience was
first described and disscussed by NILES NEWTON. Karen used that
information in making some important key points about the differences
between males and females.

Most of the writings of Niles Newton about this were in scientific
journals. However, for those of you who want to look elsewhere, I
recommend you check out Psychology Today (many years ago), which published
her wonderful THE TREBLY SENSUOUS WOMAN. This talks about three of the
elements of the five in some detail. (If I remember which year, I would
tell you; I think in the 1960s??)

PS Niles Newton is at the top of my list as a personal professional mentor
and I think of her daily and use her work nearly that often as well....
(and I deeply miss not being able to call her up, sit over dinner or lunch
or tea and chat about things since her death in 1993)....
