The more I think about this, the madder I get.  That doc just nonchalantly tells a mother of a breastfed TWO month old to use some OTC, ineffective remedy and pump and dump?  Meanwhile, she feeds her baby formula for five days?  He doesn't even consider the possibility that they might be another solution... one that actually WORKS?  Grrrr.

I heard from a mother of a breastfeeding 2 month old today that she (the
mom) was diagnosed w/ head lice (she has older school age children).    Her
physician said to treat it w/ RID and to "pump and dump x 5 days."

I cannot find RID in Dr. Hale's book, but I did find it in Frank Nice's
"Nonprescription Drugs for the Breastfeeding Mother."    He  listed RID as an
L2.

Because of the large difference in recommendations I am coming to you for
suggestions or ideas.    What do I tell this mom????
