This sounds intriguing, but I would add a word of caution. The person
who is renting or selling breastpumps, supplies, etc., must be
knowledgeable about the products and a breastfeeding advocate. Years
ago, I was an OB nurse in suburban Washington and a LLL volunteer came
on our unit every afternoon and helped mothers and babies. She had
grown children who were successfully nursed as infants and a dedication
and patience that were remarkable. Such a person would be great in a
hospital lactation center. But someone unimformed, maybe negative or
unsupportive of mothers would be in a position to do a disservice to the
clientele in my opinion. When working with auxiliary volunteers, you
may have no control over the day-to-day staffing.
