Hello! I am new at Lactnet, I tried to introduce myself once but
messed up the message. I hope this one goes through. I have been
reading all the messages everyday, faithfully and I thank everyone of
you for the rich information you have given me. I am an unofficial
Lactation consultant at my hospital, my duties are mostly clinical
specialist, maternal child. Most of the babies we deliver are over 32
weeks and over. We keep the stable ones and transfer the others. So
here is the problem: this baby came back to us to grow. She was born
at 29 weeks, is now 32. Mom has been pumping since birth and baby is
taking EBM and doing very well. Mom has an overabundant supply of
expressed milk. What do I do with it? I read somewhere that the milk
composition differs as the baby grows. Should mom freeze her freshly
expressed milk and give baby the old one? should she just pitch the
milk? if so, this mom will need references. I would appreciate your
help. Thanks. Esther
