Sheila,
I think the best advice I got when we first under took becoming a pump
rental station was that it was a lot more work than one would think. I
ignored that wise advice from the others on this list. Someone calls, you
take a pump and drop it off, they send you money -- right -- How hard could
it really be? I almost always spend close to 2 hours with a client when
delivering a rental pump. That doesn't include the time on the phone before
and after nor all the calls I field from women who don't rent from us.
Overall it's been okay, but it is harder than I thought it would be. I
think we have a "system" down now and there is a nice flow to how we handle
this business, but it took a while to get there. Besides the items you
mentioned I'd suggest having the following available.

"Milk storage guideline" sheets
"How to tell if your baby is getting enough" sheets
"Proper pumping" guidelines
Also maybe "How to increase supply" information sheets
Local LLL Meeting Schedules

Larger size flanges
Carrying cases for the rental pumps

Vacuum (pressure) gauge
Tracking sheets
Contracts
Calvacide to clean pumps in between users
