Hi Kathleen:  While that may be true, there are most definitely antecdotal
reports from moms that I have found disturbing.  I take no comfort in the
defensive position ("well so far it looks OK"), but prefer to go on the
offense (Protecting the client until we can reasonably declare safety).  I
appreciate Dr. Hale's conservatism here.  There are other drugs that we can
comfortably use during Mom's breastfeeding career--not to mention good
psychotherapy and other support.  I, for one, do not want to have to feel
badly about advice I gave in an information vacuum if it is detrimental to
any baby.

I'm one of the 10 Californians who is *not* on Prozak, though I've sent
counseling clients to their physicians for same and seen it work wonders.
 Maybe I should get out of my denial and go for it!  :>)     Nancy
