Something like this happened in Edmonton Alberta (where Jodine Chase lives,
perhaps she can comment further) A dozen moms donated for a baby who had
been breastfed, but mom got an illness that excluded breastfeeding. The
story was picked up by CTV (national news network). It ran as a "feel good"
story, about the compassion of friends, but also had to note the "dangers"
of sharing unscreened milk. I wish they had instead ran this story as an
illustration of the failure of our health system to provide screened, banked
milk for those who need it.
