Hi, Mary Ann: Even tho I support the ad council's efforts 300%, I kind of
have to agree with some of your staff's comments. I don't like the
feelings I'm getting when I'm looking at the posters, as well as the PSAs.
My first impression is "How odd". It's making me feel like breastfeeding
is this odd, weird thing. And I really didn't like the PSAs - the
mechanical bull and the log rolling. Not only did I think them "odd" but
they were way too noisy, busy, and loud. Did not leave me with a good
feeling at all. I don't think I would choose to nurse a baby based on the
impressions these posters and PSAs are leaving me with. And I extended
nursed 3 babies! I hope some of the ad council's upcoming work makes a
better impression on me.
I do like the Dutch article with the co-sleeper in it. I printed out the
adorable picture of baby smiling up at mom while at the breast and have
that on my office door - one of the staff nurses was in my office talking
to me when it came out of the printer and she just melted when she saw
that. Some of the other staff made positive comments also, and the picture
has only been on my door a couple of hours.
Just my personal thoughts...
