The depression feeling with let-down must be associated with a hormonal
imbalance.  I'm beginning to co-lead a depression support group at
Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, Il next week and have done a lot of
reading on the topic.  Many women experiencing Postpartum Depression have a
hormonal imbalance.  I'd suggest she get her levels drawn and may benefit
from supplementation.  In addition to the "medication", I'd recommend she
attend a support group as well so that she doesn't feel isolated and can gain
the support of other women.  Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove and
Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village have great support groups.
