I wonder if some of the responses seen by women who gain excessive weight
is the difficulty in identifying with this very changed body.

This I have seen with moms - more in adolescents, but in moms of all ages
who suddenly don't feel these breasts are theirs - they are changed so
radically - first with the pregnancy, then some women have even greater
changes after childbirth.

I've had some say "These don't look like my breasts." or "How do women
handle these things?" (Speaking more as if they were objects that have
suddenly been attached to their chest rather than part of themselves.)

Perhaps women who gain a lot of weight experience these feelings more?
Just a thought.
