There is a call for submissions at this art gallery in Saskatchewan, Canada and thought someone might be interested:
http://deangallery.ca/pdf/breasts_more.pdf
or from here http://deangallery.ca/events.html

It begins, "The breast has nurtured the growth of the human race since the beginning of time. We seek the mother's breast at birth and rest in the bosom of the earth mother at death."

I'm trying to think of what could be done with the Everyday Breastfeeding Photo contest entries to make them "art" and exhibit them.

I just talked to the Curator. She has not heard from any other breastfeeding advocates. We need to make sure there is some breastfeeding representations and entries. This is OUR issue, and they may not hear from us!

This show may receive Canada Council Funding, and as such would then tour Canada. So it would be a shame if the voice of actual currently breastfeeding moms is not represented. (They will accept entries from all over, not just Saskatchewan or Canada).

The curator (woman) was surprised that breastfeeding in public, was still an issue. She said she bfed her children in the 70's, until they were 18 months, and she thought this was a non-issue now. Oh my goodness!

She encouraged me to collaborate with an artist - she thought a multi-media presentation (power point presentation) or book would work. It has to be "artistic" though.

The deadline is May 2, however, not much time.

Thoughts, ideas???
