I have several times (not on Lactnet) proposed that a study be done on
how long milk could be expressed and/or drips spontaneously after
weaning. As far as I know, noone has ever taken this up as a project.
It seems to me that it is high time it were done.

I would point out that there is a difference between spontaneous
leaking almost every day and being able to express a few drops of
milk. We still need to define the limits of normal. Maybe I'm wrong,
but it seems to me that spontaneous leaking years after nursing 6
weeks is beyond that limit. Don't forget Kathleen, that if you are
meeting these women at breastfeeding conferences, they probably
breastfed long and/or many.
