I have good news!!!!!

I will (really!!!) be opening a lactation center in my hospital. I already
do follow-up phone calls on all of the moms who deliver there (about
70/month), do rounds the 3 mornings a week I am there. I also do follow-up
outpatient visits (so far, free to the patient) on the moms who need it.

I had a big meeting with my nurse-manager and the hospital CFO (chief
financial officer), who has now OK'd everything: pump rentals, supplies,
charging for seeing me, as well as all of the 'stuff' that I will need in the
new lactation room......computer, phone (I already have my own number),
business cards, comfy chair, etc. It was all I could do to not grin like a
Cheshire cat during the meeting. I still can't believe it's actually
happening!

We are going to have a contest to come up with a catchy name (the CFO said
Palms West Lactation Center was "boring"). And I need to get with the pump
rep. to order pumps and supplies. Can you tell I'm grinning now?????

Thanks for letting me share this with you all.
