Hello Lactnet gurus.
Although this is my first time posting, I have felt connected to you and
have been learning so much from you for some time now.

"Does anyone have access to information regarding or references regarding
breast milk turning green after the mother has had Technetium (like
thalium)?"

I am a PHN working on our Public Health Intake call line in Toronto,
Ontario;we provide a lot of breastfeeding assessment and support to new
mothers by telephone, as well as faciliate accessing direct support for
mothers, as needed.

A team-mate received a call late this afternoon from a local physician who
was calling on behalf of his patient, who had technetium for a cardiac
test more than 2 days ago. Apparently, the mother has already 'pumped and
dumped' for more than the 48 hours recommended by Hale. A call to our
local resource, Motherisk, confirmed that according to the information
available to Motherisk, the mother should be able to resume breastfeeding
now; and no additional info. At this point, the mother is reluctant to
resume breastfeeding without further clarification and reassurance. Does
anyone know anything that would further clarify this and reasssure this
mother?

Many thanks in advance for your collective wisdom.
Martha
