I was just told by one of our hospital nurses that the only formula that we
get from the formula reps is the "Low Iron" . Of course our hospital is
like the average hospital and still accepts the free formula, despite me
efforts to shove them down the BFHI path. I have told the nurses that the
mothers that are not BF should feed their babies the "high iron" formula
not the low iron concoction. They reply that the low iron is the only
thing that they are given by the reps.

To me this sounds like a plot by the reps to only have the formula that is
designed to be used as a supplement in the hospital. It also sounds like a
good excuse to me to push the hospital to say, If they won't give us what
we want they we have to stop accepting only what they give us and only get
what we are willing to pay for.

Has anyone else noted a similar finding in their hospital?
