I believe what is most important on the issue of GBS is that the parents are
well informed about what it is, how it manifests itself, the risk factors and
where their pregnancy falls, the risks both of using IV meds and not using
them, and then they can make a well educated and informed choice......as they
should regarding all issues of their pregnancy.  Included in that will be the
increased risk of thrush that antibiotics presents and if that risk tips
their scale one way or the other.

I must not only have confidence that if a parent  will fully educate
themselves on the issues of breastfeeding that they will make the right
choice.......but that being informed well on all issues of parenting will
lead them to excellent choices overall.

So the dilemna is really about accurate information being provided, the
desire to seek the education being present, and anything we can do to help
that process in our societies along.
