As for the studies about intelligence, just think about how stupid and
small-brained are people are who are exclusively formula fed!!!

Although I totally agree we should be discussing the RISKS of formula
versus the benefits of breastfeeding. I am shocked and offended by a statement
like this.
I was formula fed. My mother was told because she had Rh - blood, she would
harm me by breastfeeding. In those days the Rh factor was a very scary
thing. What mother would knowingly harm her baby? Although I know I would now
be thinner and remember why I walked into the kitchen if I had been
breastfed, I was at least smart enough to breastfeed my own children.
I beleive overly negative comments like this turns mothers off and will not
encourage anything. It causes "us" the lactation professionals, to appear
small minded. we need to walk a fine line between accurate and accusatory
and hurtful.
We need to provide positive support and messages for all of our mothers.
