I wanted to re-introduce myself since I am back on Lactnet after a few
months absence due to a move. I am an LLLL and Physician Assistant who
usually works in Family Practice medicine. I'm taking a little break
from that while we get settled and I'm homeschooling my 6th grader.

I wanted to add that my 2nd child (now age 5) STOPPED having bm's at
around 6 weeks. About once a week he would have a STAIN in his diaper
about the size of an adult's thumbprint. I was a little freaked, but
found reference to this being normal in a Pediatrics textbook (of all
places!). Sorry can't remember the name of book. I think it was
Pediatric Signs and Symptoms.

I have to agree with whomever stated that she felt these kids are using
breastmilk so efficiently that they have no waste. He must have been
using every molecule for growth, as he was a big, fast grower also.

I just kept telling myself "Look at the whole picture": He is happy,
growing and doesn't seem to have an obstruction! I think he had a
tougher time (than the other kids) at moving bowels (discomfort wise)
when he started solids around 6 mos. He then gradually resumed bm's
couple times per week. He continues to develop quite normally otherwise!

Meg - who is nearly all unpacked, but wishes her old house was sold :(
