Hello fellow lactnetters:

A few months back I had asked for cool - neat - appropriate sites to link to
our professional association's web page (the first one that a ilca affiliate
had a web page set up).

Well just 2 days after I got everything set up including our logo on the page.
Michigan association of lactation Consultants (MALC [log in to unmask] com). The
powers that be at AOL tried to shutdown my master account and take all my
other screen names along with it. Stating that Breastfeed did not meet with
their terms of service aggrement. So they dumped the updated -- finished web
pages UGHHHHHH!!!! both my own site and the MALC site.

Well needless to say that after many phone calls and e-mails my screen names
and master account are both safe, But I still had to go up before their
committee to prove that I was not x rated, (I have been a member under this
name for over 3 + years) they stated that they don't have time to go out
searching for "BAD" screen names. Someone must have lodged a complaint, I
asked them to show me the documentation (of course they could not produce
any).

The only thing I can ever remember doing is making it a policy to never answer
breatfeeding questions over immediate message, all requests must be submitted
via regular e-mail with at least city and state so I might link them up with a
IBCLC in their area. I just goes to prove we always have to be on our guard,
you never know who will be out to get you (no I am not paranoid -- just a
realist)

Now that I had a chance to vent. Back to the question at hand. Can I have
all of you send me your favorite breastfeeding web sites with a short
description of who's site and what the main info is about.

Aol has found the orginal (non up dated web pages) minus the logo's and links.
I must get these pages up and running ASAP our next meeting is Jan 17th. It
will probably take me at least a full week to search though the links to I can
get them approved by the group.

TIA send all web site / link info to MALC [log in to unmask]
