Joy,

I had to jump in here. I had migraines for many years and suffered from
them terribly. After years of going round and round with a neurologist and
taking everything from Elavil to Thorazine, I gave it all up and started
investigating on my own. Between dealing with some emotional issues (which
I think was a small part) and then finding biofeedback and tracking my diet
I was able to virtually eliminate all migraines. I was able to identify the
foods that triggered my migraines. I have had to give up chocolate (which
is almost criminal) but it is well worth it to be
pain-free! To keep on topic, my migraines were so severe when pregnant with
my daughter but really eased up while breastfeeding. :)

I have no personal experience with migraines, and am no expert, but I
have an interest in food intolerance. I recently read the new 2000
edition of Jonathon Brostoff and Linda Gamlin 'Food allergies and
food intolerance' and in that they give some interesting theories and
case histories involving migraines caused by food intolerances.

If this avenue were pursued, especially in breastfeeding mums, many
of the problems of drugs required and perhaps also problems with
foods down the track in the babies, could be avoided. Worth
considering, I reckon.
