I did a class this morning, and all 8 of them had heard the research.

Interestingly, it had not had much of an impact....this is, I
suspect, because pregnant mothers (and fathers) can hardly think
beyond the birth and maybe the first days after that. The idea that
they might wonder at four months whether to continue bf is a hard one
to get their heads round.

My prediction is that while the media interpretation of ' bf more
than 4 months is risky' is the one that has emerged, the fuss will
die a death after a while.... we need to counter any mentions of  it
with the Dundee stuff (when it's published - I wish it had been
published) , with questions of the sort that have already appeared
here, and throw in a comment about poor quality of the western diet,
which no one disagrees with.....

Or am I just being Pollyanna?
