Hi, I had a very interesting thought today as I was having a conversation
with a 5 mo. pregnant nurse at work. she has had a rough 1st 5 mo. as she has had
quite a bout with hyperemesis. she was saying her md was a bit reluctant in
putting her on Reglan & stated to let him know if it doesn't subside soon, as
he is afraid of her becoming depressed. my question is this: Has there ever
been a long term study done on the use of Reglan during pregnancy? Today I
realized I have a friend who actually had lived on Reglan throughout her pregnancy.
Her son at age 17 was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, depression the whole
nine. He has been in & out of psych. hospitals in the past 3 yrs. also, the md's
at my hosp. want nothing to do with Reglan to increase milk supply for fear
of depression. Does anyone think there may be a correlation for use during
pregnancy?
