Please, do I suggest the above mentioned mother give the baby BM in a
bottle to relieve the gassiness and alleviate thrush?

I am afraid there has been a misunderstanding regarding my statement about
my patient who had persistant thrush and OALR was giving BM in a bottle.
This was entirely the mother's idea, and she did not get that advice from
me and it also had no relationship to any discussion of Lactnet.  I think
Frances and I are talking about 2 different situations--her patient and
mine.

In my mother's situation, she felt that she would be breaking the cycle of
cross contamination of yeast between herself and the baby.  Of course, the
baby was able to handle the flow of milk much easier from the bottle than
he was from the breast, and that is why he seemed more content and less
gassy.  I apologize for any confusion I may have caused, and hope this post
does not cause even more confustion.
