Another good, new resource on breastfeeding as related to SIDS is William
Sears' 1995 book, "SIDS: A Parents' Guide to Understanding and Preventing
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome." Written in a very caring and sensitive
style, it is reassuring and empowering for parents who feel anxious about
this devastating illness or who have lost a baby to SIDS in the past. I
think it would be helpful for LCs to read also. It has pages of up-to-date
references. Very pro-breastfeeding, of course.
