Laurie makes a good point : just like we know basic info and tailor it to the
mom we are with, we can tailor our analogies based on something we know or
learn about the mom during our time together. Mom who said she was a college
swimmer knows about lung power, so the milk making analogy that came out of my
mouth was : milk-making responds to the baby's need for it and removal of it,
as you pushed yourself harder in swimming, and needed more oxygen, you breathed
in more to get it, you didn't hold your breath to give your lungs time to
rest and hope to get more...:)
People make sense of the analogies that resonate with their lives, as Laurie
pointed out...:)
