It is very difficult to produce human lactoferrin in other species. Gene Pharming
has been trying it for many yerars, with not much luck. The cows who do produce
human lactoferrin die quickly, because the lactoferrin turns to their own
immunesystem.

I bet this article is meant as a plea for formula producers to put (more) money in
the research .
