i have seen (drug phone calls) a number of moms who have had drops in supply
soon after starting the patch --- 1st week (all except one were able to bring
their supply back up after removing the patch)

-- All of which had been nursing less than 6 months -- so I do not know if it
has the same dramatic effect farther out postpartum -- I have also had moms
who the mini pill and depo have killed milk supplies -- at least you can stop
taking the mini pill and take off the patch.

-- that is why i stand by barrier/spermacidial means -- or abstain (ha, ha)
to be sure there is no drop in supply

-- i have been updated that in other areas of my fair state that a new type
of IUD is being compatible with Breastfeeding -- but have no clients who have
used the product to see if it does not mess with supply -- and in some moms it
might be an option after 6 weeks postpartum. and not all women are IUD
compatible docs on my side of town tend not to offer IUD's as an option unless a
mother asks.
