Hi Michelle and all who use abbreviations,
the "NP" I got, but I can only guess at all the other shortcuts you mentioned in your post. WH maybe being women's health? etc.......I would love to share your sentiments, but it is very difficult - not being an RN myself. Maybe we could implement the suggestion raised a few days ago, i.e. the first time an abbreviation is used, it should be written in full, and then thereafter can be used abbreviated. I would like to say this is for the benefit each year, of new IBCLC's who haven't had yet the opportunity to familiarize themselves with all the jargon - but I ain't "new" yet just know how much I don't know!!
