Dear Netters,
I am trying to find any policy and procedures written for use of nipple
shields.  My hospital gives them out through the nursery staff.  They do not
notify the postpartum staff and they do not get orders for them either.  Not
that it makes much difference since the pediatricians do not recognize me as
a proffessional, and having any use...The obs will write for me to consult
patients but not the peds.  I am trying to get them to stop giving them out
because they just use them so they do not have to stay and work with the
couples.   Any assistance would be appreciated since if they see things from
other hospitals they then don't think it is the breastfeeding nazi from the
delivery room.
