Thanks for the replies. Just to explain--my feeling is the expert doctor (who is actually testifying against mom re: other injuries) was wrong--it is not normal for an exclusively breastfed baby of less than six weeks to go that long.   At that same time, I had grave concerns that not having a bowel movement for five days constituted neglect on its face. In other words, both judge and expert are wrong, and people here have confirmed it.  I can't even begin to tell you the rest of the  bad BF advice that's in the various medical records...it's a fine line I walk in my new job. ;-)
