Recently I worked with a client who's baby had plenty of stools and wet
diapers but wasn't gaining weight. The stools were also foul smelling.
The baby's grandmother has severe dairy allergy to the point of anaphylactic
shock. So, we tried eliminating dairy from the mother's diet, as well as
pumping, breast compression, co- sleeping etc.., and within about one week
the baby started gaining and the stool smell changed to typical breastmilk
smelling stools.

This was without formula supplementation. Within about 2 or three weeks the
mom stopped pumping, and all was well, yet she continues to be strictly
dairy free.
