 Dear Lactnetters:
I was reviewing an article for the International Journal of Child Abuse and
Neglect. The study was conducted in Greece and they were looking for factors
that related to abuse vs. abuse prevention in high risk families. One of the
variable that they found to be protective was BREASTFEEDING!! Yeah! It was
not a strong of protector as some of the other factors, but this was the
first time I had ever even seen it included as a variable. The article is
still under review so I won't have a citation for about a year.
Nevertheless, I couldn't wait to share empirical support for what many of us
have known.
