Regarding the pediatrician advising mom not to nurse baby every 2
hours  at night:
I find it interesting that no one on the list has suggested this mother  look 
for another PEDI??
This mom really needs to get to a La Leche League meeting (if she isn't  
already attending) as it will give her the support she is not getting from Dr.  
and husband.
Also, information on co-sleeping and frequent night nursings reducing the  
risk of SIDS would be helpful for her to have and to show to her husband (and  
doc if she so chooses).
Best of luck with this mother.  It is a shame that we have to fight to  keep 
the pieces of motherhood we know best (how to mother our children)  intact.
