I wrote recently about a mom with a low milk supply and how her stopping
the use of "sage" body products and changing from her use of rice milk to
soy milk increased her supply somewhat. Now I have another question
about the same mom. She is very educated and has done a lot of
reading/research on her own. She is very allergic this time of
year--spring in the US--especially to tree pollens. She is wondering if
the histimines and other responses her body has to allergens also go
through her milk to the nursling, who is now 6 months. She knows that
antibodies go through the milk to help protect the baby, but do the
opposite kinds of things also go through? Is baby getting a large dose
of mom's response to allergens and thus sensitizing baby in a manner of
speaking? Or is this another great subject for a research study?

Warmly,
