Hi from NZ
I have a question. One of my clients who is about to give birth has had a
breast reduction.I have a lactaid which I used to help a woman in a
similar situation but she did not like it and I did not meet her until
about 8 days postpartum. This time I want to be prepared and avoid the
baby rejecting the fine tubes taped to the nipple. Would it be wise to
tape some little tubes to the nipple from the first day or so , so that
the baby will get used to them or shall I leave this until we have
established that the baby needs comp. feeding.I would appreciate any
advice on this topic , I know it has been in the posts before but not
this particular aspect.Thanks.Mail me direct if you like.
Some other little comments from this side of the world , do people still
really circumcise their boys?? It is almost unheard of over here.
As far as suctioning the newborn goes that seems to be the domain of the
doctor as most midwives and peadiatricians don't believe it to be of any
value and certainly not necessary and don't do it.
I'm really enjoying getting my mail, it seems to bring us all closer
together though we are worlds apart in lots of ways.
Thanks for all the interesting reading and useful information.
JUDI.
