There's been a great deal of change in diabetes nomenclature in the last
few years, and it seems we are coming to understand different types of
diabetes a lot better than we used to.  There's a well-written article in
the Jan/Feb 1995 MCN (American Journal of Maternal/Child Nursing) that
you may find interesting:  "What Happens to the Offspring of Diabetic
Pregnancies?" by Sally Doshier pp. 25-28.  It doesn't mention
breastfeeding in the article at all (hmmm...why am I just discouraged
instead of surprised) but it does do a nice job of explaining what is now
called Impaired Glucose Tolerance in Pregnancy (and I just got used to
