I am wondering if there are any surveys on what the public is actually doing
in terms of feeding their newborn babies and toddlers? Is it breast for a
few months then weaning to bottle? Do moms really keep their babies on
formula for a year as recommended by pediatricians ? I ask this because the
conversation always centers around what we should be doing but where is the
proof that the public as a whole are actually adhering to or agree with what
is suppose to be the norm? I pose the following question for discussion: If
working women were told tomorrow that formula would no longer be available
would they resort to long term breast feeding and stay at home since we have
done very little in making breast feeding acceptable in the current
workplace, or would they be looking for others to assume this role as they
continued to work. What do you think?
