Dear Renee:

Hope that you've gotten useful information about scales to use both in
your clinic and your support group meetings.

But just checking -- is a weigh-in a regular part of the meeting? While
it would be useful to have equipment around if a worried mother wants
that option privately (and they're not in regular contact with a HCP) it
seems like a mother's support group should encourage her to not look at
numbers but to look at the baby health, development and general demeanor
for the answers. As the concurrent thread about the skinny
fifteen-month-old shows, a lot of mothers get beaten over the head with
weight-charts. It's wonderful that your institution is providing
support for breastfeeding mothers, and helping them gain from each
other, so don't let the equipment get in the way.

Good luck in your work.
