IMHO, EVERY new mom is at risk for ppd, no matter how free of
previously-identified risk factors, and the above-mentioned steps should be
used with all new mothers. Subtly or overtly, depending on what you're
seeing, but the door should never be closed on that concern no matter how
well it appears someone is coping. Some of us are natural-born "copers", and
will always look like we're in good control of everything; the reality can
be very different, and it's always worth that little bit of "extra"
assessment & attention.
