While on a weekend trip to Tzippori, (Galilee area of Israel) I came
across wonderful mosaics over 2,000 years old. I asked a guide why so
many of the women were portrayed with one breast. He said that they
according to legend, the women were female warriors. They cut off one
breast in order to take better aim with bow and arrow. Amazon is not
Spanish as I assumed, but comes from the Greek: "one breasted."
