I am feeling pretty satisfied with the new guidelines! It's about time!
But....

The local news just did a quick report on the guidelines and I am
*completely* disappointed. They only pinpointed the reference to how
*long* a baby should be put to breast and said that "a pediatrics
organization" (did not speicify which one!) has upped it's "long
standing" recommendation for breastfeeding for 6-12 months, saying that
they now recommned moms breastfeed for *at least* a year. This was
exciting, but then they went on to say that this is going to put a* huge
burden* on working mothers and is considered "not in touch with reality"
for moms!!!!! They then went on to spout off three benefits of
breastfeeding for baby and two bennies for mom. That was all. I am really
outraged. Out of touch with reality???!!!

Of course, for me, it was. There is *no way* I could have weaned my son
after just one year. But I'm guessing that is not what they meant!
