It is possible that the hormones of breastfeeding change vision somewhat.
This has come up on lactnet before.  However, the hormones of breastfeeding
are way down by the time the baby is 13 months old.  I doubt the
opthalmologist has any idea what effect breastfeeding has on the cornea.
I'll bet this is another one of those, "when in doubt, stop breastfeeding"
situations.

Why the rush to do this procedure, anyways?  Surely a few more months, a
year to allow for slow weaning would be considerate of the child?  I cannot
believe the mother is willing to wean a 13 month old "cold turkey".  The
effect on the baby could be considerable.
