Elizabeth, good to hear from you.  We need more like you.  We have lots of
terrific LC's and other health professionals on Lactnet, but only relatively
few physicians.  75% still breastfeeding at 6 months is not bad at all, in
any country (the world has changed a lot in the past few years, I will be
that even Kathy Dettwyler's Mali is not what it was.  One of my children's
teachers is from Mali and I heard him use the expression "not like a baby
who needs his bottle").

Your points about treating hypertension are quite relevant.  This question
comes up all the time, that women (well, not just women) are being treated
inappropriately.  Always the drug first.  The quick fix.  And the latest,
most expensive drug because the drug rep just left the office.
